Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 27 and Day 28(W4) - P3

I tried following the phase 3 diet plan, probably not very accurate as I was busy packing for the trip.

At the end of second round I did weigh in 138 pounds, which is a overall loss of 8 pounds. I didn't lose any more weight as I did in phase 1, but I was able to retain the weight loss and inches did go down.

At the marriage many people did note that I have lost weight and many people did compliment me on that.

I will be starting the round 3 of the diet starting Monday January 2nd. Planning to log the process and use the old blogs as my reference for next round. 

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 26(W4) - P3

This marks the last week of round 2, cannot even believe that I am already through 2 rounds. I really love this way of eating, not that anything has got any easier for me in terms of food prep and dreaded Phase2; but how it makes me feel at the end of the day. I feel lighter, tighter and when I exercise I feel I have more energy and endurance. I have not lost crazy amount of weight(much to claim of lose 20 pounds in 28 days), but I have lost some and I am ready to celebrate and acknowledge that!!

Additional Notes -
With this diet I have learned a lot about how our body reacts to what kind of food you eat. I am amazed at the way our body feels when we eat FAT. I feel so much more satiated. I feel I could skip snacks because I was so full. It makes one happier too!!

Exercise 
I have realized that lifting weights before I sleep disturbs my sleep, I get muscle cramps when I sleep after that. 

Additional Notes -

Today was particularly difficult in terms of what I ate. At one point of time I was hoping it will soon be night and next day morning. I did eat some namkeen(spicy lentils) to curb the depressing feeling I was going through.

I am not even kidding when I say that I danced in joy when i got to know that i can eat Pomegranate on this diet.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 22(W4) - P1

Thai soup (Veg) with rice noodles.
May be not 100% diet approved, but this is the best I could do for dinner yesterday.

Additional Notes -
If there is just one thing I have to say about this diet it would be that this diet is all about food prep. Ironically the kind of food which supports and ignites our metabolism is not very readily available. I am not so well prepared for this week in terms of food prep and I can see how easy it is to get caught up in life and eat whatever is there infront of you. But I am determined to finish strong so I am not throwing in the towel yet.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 19, 20, 21(W3) - P3

As always I tried to keep things as much as possible according to the Diet plan, would say that i did stick to it ma be like 80% because I did have situations where I was not sure what to eat and make the best possible choice I could make.

I do not have the list of food I ate. would try to document it better in the next and last weekend of the second round of the diet !! I can't believe that I was able to do two round of it back to back. I will start the new round when I am back from vacation.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 15(W3) - P1



It is surprising shift in my perspective, I look forward to starting a new week on this diet. Hopefully my fight with food might finally get over. This draining conflict has been happening for decades, a vicious cycle of eating food and then feeling the effects it had on me; being enemy with food as it is causing me to gain weight but then lured in by my deceiving tongue. I might make peace with food eventually; not there yet, not even half way there but hopefully will move towards it.

Its the same Veg curry this week as well, i think this is one thing I can eat again and again and not get bored with it. Also a special mention of Mango, it was so sweet and delicious; with a desert like this who needs cake and pastries

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 13 and Day 14(W2) - P3

Weekends are usually tough, especially when there are outings and gatherings planned. I did try to stick to the diet in whichever meal possible, but then some other meals were not even close to the recommended diet plan. No I didn't drink though.

Brief over view of what I ate over the weekend

Indian meals with curry, Dal, naan, Mango Lassi and cake and ras malai. No guilt though, it happens once in a while so I am ok with what I ate.

Had zucchini soup, for fat content had almond milk with coconut oil and coconut chips

Additional Notes:
I did weight myself on Sunday morning and I was back up at 144 pounds, weights myself after few hours it was 140 something I believe. So moral of the story is I need to buy a new weighing scale.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 12(W2) - P3

Breakfast
Oatmeal(1/2 cup cooked)+cashew and coconuts(1/4 cup) + one persian cucumber.

Snack 1
Didn't get to eat anything for this snack as I was in a meeting marathon. That is ok, anyways I was sitting all the time.

I did have golden milk made from Almond Milk as first thing in the morning, may be that can count as morning snack

Lunch
I recently recently realized that Phase 3 lunch doesn't include grains. I think I ate grains for lunch on all Phase 3 days. Anyways have corrected my mistake ever since.

Cauliflower roasted in Olive Oil + Black Beans + Peaches(frozen)

Snack 2
Red Bell Pepper + Celery + Almond butter

Dinner
Egg plant curry cooked in olive oil + brown rice tortilla

Additional Notes -
I am bit hesitant to weight myself tomorrow, just because I think I might not have lost weight, rather might have crawled back in 140 range. I know I should not bother so much about the weight as far as I can fit into my clothes in a better way; but still that number is a psychological barrier.

I packed my breakfast but forgot to get it to office, so would have to just forgo it. Just had lemon juice before I left for office

Additional Notes -
That time of the month, so no exercise for today. Lifting heavy is not in radar during those times. Might just relax and have some downtime.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 10(W2) - P2


Now this may deserve a separate blog post, but today I tried a new way of cooking egg whites and I think I am never looking back now. It is going to make phase 2 so much easier in terms of egg whites tasting much better, no wastage of egg whites(as most of it gets stuck on the pan) and best part, no cleaning. I 'baked' my Egg Whites, just took three eggs, salt and pepper; beat them well and pour it in a foil(made like a bucket of the foil). Put it in for baking for 10 minutes and then scrap the egg whites from the foil. It came out clean and then just threw away the foil. The egg white tastes so much better like this. I am not sure how I came up with this idea, but hell yes I love it!!

Lunch
Sprouted Tofu + Broccoli

Snack 2
2 Egg White + 2 Persian cucumbers

Margerita Pizza + 2 oz of carrot cake.
Yes I completely deviated from my diet for dinner as it was my marriage anniversary and we went out for dinner and carrot cake was the celebratory cake. Not even an ounce of guilt here, the diet is a life style but marriage anniversary happens only once a year.

Exercise 
None

Additional Notes -
If its about how I am feeling, well I am feeling terribly low. I have always maintained the saying that weight loss is a lot about mental fitness; for me that is where at times I fail. Life happens and that causes so many setbacks, today is one of those days; but will not spoil my progress my a binge. Today is my marriage anniversary so might have to go out to eat; again it has to be one of those no guilt eating day. Losing weight is a journey, but my anniversary is not going to happen again till next one year.

In my attempt to be back on track I resisted my temptation to eat Diwali sweets and snacks, was successful at least in the morning.

This Veg curry is one of my favorite recipe from the cookbook and for this phase. It has good taste and I can eat it many times without feeling bored.

Ok ate one Halloween candy. I didn't even enjoy it!! I am feeling very blah today, may be bit of an exercise might help so looking forward to going home and doing some exercise at home. Did had a headache today.

So as you can see not a very perfect day of FMD. I almost didn't have my  breakfast as I left it at home. Dinner was nothing as I got stuffed by eating some of the Diwali snacks and a  crunch chocolate from my daughter's Halloween trick and treat stack.

But tomorrow is a new day and I know I can do better. Not feeling so upbeat in last few days. But at least I got a full 8 hour sleep yesterday.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 6 and Day 7(W1) - P3



These two days were bit of a haze for me. In between the prep for Diwali I do not think I had a proper meal prep and food. In short I took a break from Fast Metabolism Diet this weekend. I did eat some sweets and also some Pizza. I had given myself this weekend for no guilt indulgence. No regrets !!

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 4(W1) - P2

I think things are getting better in terms of the anxiety I used to feel for this way of eating. I am less anxious and more comfortable in terms of what is expected. But I still feel I need to take my diet up a notch in terms of types of food and vegetables I eat, I need to mix things up a little bit.

Snack 1
Egg whites(3) + 1 1/2 lemon juice with some Stevia

Breakfast
Broccoli and onion and bell pepper omelet(3 egg whites)
Yesterday I cribbed about my breakfast so much that today my husband volunteered to cook for me, he made the omelet. 
Update after lunch - I am impressed he did a very good job in cooking this, I might have to learn how to make it.

Lunch
The way it tasted yesterday I was so sure to cook something new for me today; but laziness always wins and I got the leftovers from yesterday. Added some broccoli and Bell pepper in hope that it will make the taste of Balsamic Vinegar more tolerable. I think this dish would have tasted better if I wont have put so much of balsamic vinegar.


Snack 2
2 cucumbers + 3 egg whites


Dinner
Tofu + Broccoli + lemon water

Today was such a day I chose to not eat food than to eat egg whites. So for dinner had to cook up some tofu.

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 3(W1) - P2

The dreadful phase, but according to Hailey one of the most important phase of FMD(Well not actually as every phase has its own importance and function in mending the metabolism).

So biggest issue that happened here is my lack of prep, I planned that I will put my daughter to bed and then do some cooking and prep for day 3, but, yes as usual slept with her. So had to spend few hours in the morning to cook my breakfast and lunch. That is actually the biggest problem of this diet, so much of cooking and prep and yet another bigger problem of this phase(2) is that most of the stuff has to be cooked fresh or else you(or at least I) you will not be able to keep it down. Egg whites and that too reheated in oven, can taste like eating rubber band. Actually none of the phase 1 and 2 foods taste good after reheating!!


Snack 1
Egg whites(3) + 1 1/2 lemon juice with some Stevia

Breakfast
Broccoli and Leek omelet(3 egg whites)
Post Breakfast - I think i will give up eating. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE eating, but if I have to eat this again I might actually just skip eating. It was not good, I had to force myself to eat it. I ate one mouth full followed by seltzer to push it down!!

Lunch
I am going the vegan way for lunch, yes would be eating Tofu; I didn't feel like eating Edamame salad today, so whipped up some broccoli, mushroom, onion, red bell pepper and baked Tofu. I have some left overs for lunch tomorrow(yaay!!)
Post Lunch update - this was yucky actually worse than the breakfast. Some of the recipe in book look and sound so good till you try them and they come out absolutely disgusting. That actually inspires me to do a post on my favorite and hated recipe from this diet.

Snack 2
2 cucumbers
After the scrumptious lunch I don't think I will be hungry for a long time. Anyways will try to eat the twin cucumber I got as a snack and a bottle of chorophyll water.

Dinner
I ate three egg whites for dinner. Didnt feel like eating. I did however cheat a little bit as I ate few spoonfuls from my daughter's pasta. Well anything to keep in sane. I also had lemon water of 2 lemons. 

Exercise 
Hammer power - This is a tough one with lots of weight lifting. I could have done better in terms of lifting weight, may be tomorrow.

Additional Notes -
My challenge today was timing, I didn't eat every two hours, need to be better on that tomorrow. I did skip meals today and my timing was all haywire. But how can i eat when I do not want to eat. This phase actually make me run away from food. just one more day to go!!

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 2(W1) - P1

Day has started well, but man I am so tired, i think i should try to do exercise in the morning so that i get some energy when I am in office. Everyday I wake up with a thought that I should take off that day, just call in sick but then push myself to go one more day and then take off tomorrow. 

I will have to do something about how to get a more restful sleep. This diet is a lot about relieving stress and anxiety; however these two are so intertwined in my life, that the results might be getting impacted. Anyways, I am trying my best, it may not be my best, but I am trying my best!! I am not throwing in the towel and giving up, I am in the arena, fighting, getting dirty, tears pouring down my face..but daring greatly!!

Now that I have made a ruthless reference of Theodore Rossevelt's 'Man in the Arena' speech, I need to put the real version here -

Fast Metabolism Diet - Round 2 Day 1(W1) - P1

Actually for round 2 this food log is kind of repetitive as I am already capturing the time of day and meal in the 'Fast Metabolism App'. It also lists the time when i should be eating, which is good. I will see how it goes, if I feel bored writing same things here I might discontinue. But till now I am thinking that app is my plan and this is the status report, as I always finalize the blog past the day after my diet.

I was not very prepared for the day 1 of Phase 1 as I had decided to take a week off. But the way i felt yesterday I was like no way I want to feel this way, I might feel restricted with on FMD but never bloated. The lunch and dinner both have very little oil in it, but I have plans to cook very phase specific food for tomorrow.

This was tricky, my stomach has not yet settled down after weekend eating, so my eating is very haphazard. I ate few popcorns after coming back from office(I know I should probably not eat corn on this diet, but these are non GMO and organic stuff), then i was not hungry at all during dinner time, so I decided to skip my dinner. But close to bedtime i was hungry again, so I ate 'Cinnamon swirl' bread, yes I broke the rule. Tomorrow s a new day and I am going to make myself so proud!!

I am feeling lethargic now a days, could be seasonal, but I am so freaking tired, even after a 8 hour sleep my eyes hurt as if I have pulled a all nighter. One main reason to start this diet was to have more energy, where is it!! 

Finished 'How to lose a guy in 10 days' yesterday; it is a very sweet movie.I was kind of depressed after watching it, thinking will I be every so happy like that. All wise souls say happiness is an inside job and boy they are so true. Fake it till you make it..I think I want to try this, but then laziness and dullness is also a habit and looks like I have it in me in full swing.
